HD Video Recording with Blu-Ray DVD Disk

Therefore, similar physical space of the disc can hold more volume of data. The high definition multi-media interface helps to connect the media devices (projectors and high definition DVD players). 25 GB data can be stored on a single layer blu-ray disk and 50 GB of data on the dual layer blu-ray disk.
This recording and play back can be done on both the recordable BD-R & rewritable BD-RE disks. By using the BD-AV blu-ray format, the users can use standard definition or the high definition for authoring blu-ray disk that can be played in standalone blu-ray player. The standard definition can be recorded from the analog source. SD can also be transferred directly form the digital video camcorders. So, the high definition material of two hours can be stored on single layer blu-ray disc of 25GB.
The BD-ROM format fulfills the movie industry’s requirement for distribution of the “HD commercial videos” on the prerecorded BD-ROM. It has the features of the Digital Versatile Disk (DVD) and also supports the multi-channel audio, high definition, and features of network. NEC and Toshiba both developed the high definition DVD (HD-DVD) format. Both the blu-ray and the HD-DVD are quite different formats.
